Professionalism
That's what the California Landscape & Irrigation
Council is all about. CLIC, Inc., is a trade association
of union-affiliated landscape and irrigation contractors
who operate in Southern California, and are responsible for
much of the commercial, industrial, housing and public works
projects which are undertaken in this part of the state.
CLIC is unique in the construction industry in that its signatory contractors
have binding agreements with the two major trade unions which provide labor for
landscaping and irrigation. They are the Southern California Pipe Trades, District
Council 16, and the Southern California District Council of Laborers. Finding
qualified landscape and irrigation contractors with bona fide union agreements
is always an important consideration when assigning any union contract or subcontract.
The agreements assure that qualified union labor will be used in every aspect
of construction, and that the project will be completed without picketing, shut-downs,
ore other delays caused by labor disputes and jurisdictional problems.
The agreements also guarantee the professional caliber of those who will do the
work. Each union member will be a qualified apprentice or journeymen who is trained
and experienced in the trade in which he or she is employed.
As a result, work will be carried out properly and completed on time, in keeping
with Labor Code, construction standards, project deadlines, and building/developer
requirements.
All landscape and irrigation contractors signatory to CLIC labor agreements are
properly licensed and bonded. They have the manpower, equipment, labor agreements,
and expertise to get the job done with a minimum of hassles and problems.
If you have any reason to suspect the union affiliations
of landscape and irrigation contractors who bid your work,
please call the California Landscape & Irrigation
Council.
We will be happy to verify the unions and the agreements
to which they are signed.
